Dangerous Photo Shoots

At fifteen, I stepped out into the winds of a hurricane to photograph a raging fire. Months later I was smashed into the ground at a football game as I shot from the sidelines. At sixteen, I made friends with Punk rockers and street people and wound up in situations no parent would wish for their kid. I’ve been harassed and threatened for using my camera where it wasn’t welcome. Being a photographer hasn’t always been safe, but it’s been fun.

Below, two frames from a shoot where a band brought an unexpected prop. It was a quick shoot.

Rough scan from some damaged negatives.  I still like it.
