Lighting modifiers help you shape, diffuse, direct, block, and color the light coming out of your flash.
This lesson provides an overview of two categories of modifiers you’ll use most often; umbrellas and softboxes. Each comes in a variety of sizes, shapes, and styles. And with so many different types to choose from, you’ll have endless creative options for your portraiture.
We’ll also briefly mention other modifiers like scrims, snoots, grids, barn doors, flags, and gels.
Later, we’ll cover the different mounting options for securing your modifiers to your light and stand.
